One of the less popular Dunlendings, Hillman Band discourages the Free Peoples from moving in the regroup phase by threatening to take control of a site. He may be used in conjunction with No Retreat to force the Free Peoples to march ahead and give another site away, though the Free Peoples player often has much more to worry about in moving unprepared than another site falling under control of a Shadow player.
While his stats are on par with any other Man, other minions have text that is frightening enough to keep the Free Peoples from attempting to face it two sites in a row anyway, making Hillman Band redundant. Hillman Tribe in particular has the same stats and can gain control of a site by winning a skirmish, opting to spot Saruman, Rabble-rouser (instead of only Men) to do so.
