Details:

Time: Friday 11 am (same time as SW Worlds 2000 format tournament)
Entry Fee: FREE
Prizes: Movie block rares and promos.
# of Games: 4 unless we get more than 16 players or people want to play a 5th game.
Time Limit: 55 minutes per game (we are all a bit rusty)
Tournament Director: James Barnes with Chris Schoenthal as a back-up for rulings

Format: Movie block
Sets 1-10 are legal with the cards on the x-list (posted below) banned. All sites must come from sets 7-10

If you want to play but don't have any cards anymore you are welcome to borrow a deck from one of the many that will be there.



There will be a sealed event with a starter given with packs drafted on Thursday and maybe a fun draft again on Saturday.  The buy in for these will be cheap.

This will be a great event even if all the players playing are all SW players that are there for SW Worlds.  I know that we will have about 6 or so that have said that they want to play for sure.

I would love it though if we got more LOTR players there just to play LOTRs.

I'm tentatively planning on this. My vote goes for holding it on Friday if possible.

Whoa! I say not Friday because there's no way I am taking off work to play cards.

I understand not wanting the Rings times to compete with the Star Wars times...

If you don't have it on Friday you will lose the 8-10 SW players who are planning on playing.

I'm just saying Friday because I'll have family in town and I have better things to do than play cards. I won't be playing SWCCG this year. I just don't have time to keep up on games anymore.

Compromise will have to be made to make this work ....

ST Nationals in Australia each year is a four day event .... Thursday to Sunday.

The events on Thursday and Friday are in the evening to attempt to accomodate those that work but also recognise that players have travelled interstate to attend and have no work commitments. The less popular events are held at the beginning (and in this case I think that is where LOTR would go given this appears to be an event for Star Wars).

Those that work might be able to attend by taking half a day off, or simply arriving after work. Just my 2 cents.

Basically we would have to have the main event either on Friday evening or Sunday.

We will likely do a sealed event on Thursday/Friday/Sunday or a combination of them if people want to do so. 

Saturday is basically out since all the SW players will be playing then.  I'm also guessing that Sunday will be tough.

Friday is the best day for it over this weekend.  Hopefully that doesn't drive too many people away but having it Friday will give us the best turnout of already participating players.
