Hello,
Welcome to my first ever DC LOTR card set. As determined by a poll I had previously posted a week ago, I will start my set with Gondor. Before I give you the cards though, I would like to say that the "theme" for my Gondor cards is possessions. Yes, I know, possession are Rohan’s thing, but not in my set. In my set, Gondor has the bonuses from possessions. For you Rohan fans out there, don’t be discouraged, Rohan will be getting a "theme" that strongly revolves around their mounts. So...without futher ado, here are my first batch of Gondor cards: The commons!
Gondorian Swordsman
Companion • Man
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
While this companion bears a hand weapon, he is strength +2.
C
Gondorian Bowman
Companion • Man
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
While this companion bears a ranged weapon, the fellowship archery total is +1.
C
Gondorian Horseman
Companion • Man
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
While this companion bears a mount, you may exert a minion at the start of each skirmish involving him.
C
Gondorian Tradesman
Companion • Man
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
Fellowship:While the fellowship is at a dwelling site, you may exert this companion to play a possession on him from your draw deck.
C
Gondorian Battle Sword
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be a Man.
Skirmish: Exert bearer to make him strength +1(limit +2).
C
Gondorian Battle Bow
Possession • Ranged Weapon
Strength +1
Bearer must be a Man.
Archery: Exert bearer twice to make the fellowship archery total +1.
Gondorian Battle Steed
Possession • Mount
Strength +1
Bearer must be a Man.
Skirmish: Remove two tokens to exert a minion bearer is skirmishing.
C
Gondorian Market
Possession • Support Area
To play, spot 2 Men.
At the start of each turn, you may exert a Man twice to play a possession from you draw deck on him.

Cool, I’d almost be tempted to make him a 5 strength.

Hmm, I think he should be strength +2 instead of the archery total +1.

Woah! Uh, definately would want to reconsider the gametext of this dude. He’s pretty potant, starting 2 could grab 2 copies of Ithilien Blade at site 1. I’d limit it to at a sanctuary, much in the same way Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith is limited to.

Don’t even have it exert to preserve the uniqueness of the steeds, I’d have it do something different. Maybe with tokens?

Ok this one’s better than the Gondorian Tradesman up there. This one gets a thumbs up. And you a , I’m looking forward to the uncommons! |
In his eyes was the look of a hunted beast seeking some gap in the ring of his enemies. |

Yeah, I think 5 strength would be better.

Neat. Archer without being an archer. Good stuff. Again, though, 5 strength (or at least 5 resistance) would be better, though.

I agree with Foresight: limit the type of sites that ability works at, perhaps to sanctuaries and dwellings.

It would be a little more useful if it exerted once for +1 and was limited to twice per turn.

Again, I’m with Foresight. Use tokens or threats somehow instead of exerting.

Good, but perhaps exert once and add a threat instead. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Good, but I think the Steed should remove TWO tokens for that ability, or add a threat and remove a token. The latter might help keep it better in check, actually. |

Okay, I think I edited it accordingly. Do you really feel that it would be alot better to make it a token and a threat though? If so, I will change it again, but for now, I think two tokens is pretty good. Anyone else want to review? What do you think now, Dain?
P.S. Is that you in your avatar? |

Better.
And yes, that’s me in my avatar...from, like, 5 years ago. Don’t worry: I plan on going back to my normal avatar once this crazy avatar contest is over. |

Could get seriously nasty, especially because he’s non-unique. Watch it.
Gondorian Horseman
Companion • Man
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
While this companion bears a mount, you may exert a minion at the start of each skirmish involving him.
C
Exert a minion they are assigned to - exerting any minion is too much. ’While this companion is mounted, each time he is assigned to skirmish a minion, you may exert that minion.’
Gondorian Tradesman
Companion • Man
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
Fellowship:While the fellowship is at a dwelling site, you may exert this companion to play a possession on him from your draw deck.
C
Good, but maybe you should have to add twilight as well (fetching is not a strength of the culture).
Gondorian Battle Sword
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be a Man.
Skirmish: Exert bearer to make him strength +1(limit +2).
C
Take out the limit. Nice.
Gondorian Battle Bow
Possession • Ranged Weapon
Strength +1
Bearer must be a Man.
Archery: Exert bearer twice to make the fellowship archery total +1.
Good.
Gondorian Battle Steed
Possession • Mount
Strength +1
Bearer must be a Man.
Skirmish: Remove two tokens to exert a minion bearer is skirmishing.
C
I like it like this. Reminds me of the bloodlines mounts.
Gondorian Market
Possession • Support Area
To play, spot 2 Men.
At the start of each turn, you may exert a Man twice to play a possession from you draw deck on him.
C
Take the cost down to or and make it unique.
Nice batch.
