--- description ---
Using plenty of Gondor events, this deck focuses on making Anarion a tank and taking down every minion.
--- end description ---
Ring-bearer and Ring
Boromir, Bearer of Council
The One Ring, The Ring of Rings
Fellowship (33)
Companions
Anarion, Lord of Anorien (starting)
Pippin, Wearer of Black and Silver (starting)
Faramir, Son of Denethor
Halbarad, Ranger of the North
Aragorn, Guide and Protector
Possessions / Artifacts
Ranger’s Cloak x2
Narsil, Blade of the Faithful
Ithilien Blade x2
Conditions
I Will Go x2
The Saga of Elendil x2
Citadel of Minas Tirith x2
Home and Hearth x2
Events
Elendil’s Valor x4
Swordarm of the White Tower x4
Sentinels of Numenor x3
Banners Blowing x4
Okay, so the idea for this deck is to play The Saga of Elendil, I Will Go, Narsil, and Ranger’s Cloak on Anarion, so that he has 6 vitality and is defender +1. Then assign 2 minions to Anarion (or more if you play Elendil’s Valor), and each event will not only make Anarion stronger, but will also make each minion he is skirmishing strength -6.
Halbarad and Citadel of Minas Tirith will both make sure that Anarion has full vitality, so that his ability is used to the maximum power.
Faramir is there for another great companion, and if I run into an Enduring Nazgul deck, he will shut it down. If I play against Shelob, Her Ladyship, he will either have to make Anarion unable to fight (thus letting Faramir shut down Gollum), or make Faramir unable to fight (thus allowing Anarion to overwhelm Shelob and Gollum).
Aragorn has good stats, and his skirmish ability is great for finishing off minions.
Home and Hearth, when used with Pippin, make an easy way to remove burdens.
I just made up this decklist today, and I want to try it out.
Please give me advice! |

need’s another halbarad. Ithilien blade is nasty. Seems like a pretty good deck. Remind me to always play you with corruption from now on... |

Nice deck! I’m assuming I-Blade is in there only for strength bonuses. |

Nice idea
You might want to start Halbarad with Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith instead though, and pull whatever you don’t draw in your first hand at site 3.
And while you’re at it, why not put Narsil in there as well? |
I'm not stupid. I'm just unlucky when I'm thinking. |

I forgot to add that I’ll grab one of the Rangers with The Prancing Pony, so I don’t need quite as many copies as usual.
I forgot about Narsil - when I first created the deck in my mind, it was included, but I forgot to include it in the version I typed up. |

Awesome deck, AC.
If you’re using Narsil, you may want to put a few artifacts in the deck to pump Anarion even more. Sapling of the White Tree or Scroll of Isildur, perhaps? |

Narsil only provides strength bonuses to Elendil or Isildur. In this deck, I’m guessing it’s just there for vitality purposes -- another +1 to Anarion’s vitality, and wound prevention in case of emergency.
This looks very, very strong in terms of winning skirmishes. Pippin hoses archery-based Shadows, and you covered Ninja Gollum. With Faramir’s ability and generally high-vitality companions, any other direct-wounding decks (Sauron Grind, Red Wrath, etc.) would probably be favorable matchups too.
It seems like the only real problem is corruption, so I’d suggest either 2x Scroll of Isildur, or a Gandalf + Foehammer package if you can find room.
Nice deck! |

Yes, Corruption is my main enemy. A couple copies of Home and Hearth may remedy that. |
