| how many years is between the destruction of the ring and the battle when Isildur and Elendil get killed? and what age is it in? |

| second age was when Elendil and Isildur defeated Sauron the first time. it was the third age before the ring was destroyed. and considering is was about 500 years that it stayed with Gollum and 60 with Bilbo and 1 with Frodo and who knows how long Isildur had it. I would say about 600 years. |

Prologue, The Lord of the Rings wrote: Thus, the years of the Third Age in the reckoning of the Elves and the Dunedain may be found by adding 1600 to the dates of the Shire-reckoning...With them he {Bilbo} set out, to his own lasting astonishment, on a morning of April, it being then the year 1341 Shire-reckoning...
Add in another 60 years for Bilbo to hold the ring before Frodo takes it to Mount Doom, and you’ve got roughly 3000 years. |

The Second Age lasted 3441 years, until Sauron was overthrown by Elendil and Gil-galad. Third Age lasted 3021 years, until Frodo and Bilbo departed over the Sea with the Three Keepers.
If your RPG character is about 1900 years old, then he only existed during the Third Age. |
